Fall Colour Special Walk

  • Amisk Trail 4394 Waverley Street Winnipeg, MB, R0A 0T0 Canada (map)

Join Out There for our autumn colour walk on the relaxing Amisk Trail.
This walk begins just outside the borders of La Barriere Park and winds its way along the scenic La Salle River through dense forest back towards city limits.*Note: This is not the Amisk trail in The Whiteshell.*

*Important* We will be meeting just inside the Perimeter Highway at the McDonalds @3045 Pembina. This is on Pembina and Dalhousie (see later note for bus info).

We will be meeting at the McDonald's between 12:45 and 1:15pm.
From here it is a short drive to Waverly St. on to Camp Amisk where we will access the trail head.

We should begin the walk before 1:45pm. This is roughly a 7km walk: out and back. Depending on our pace, expect to be done between 3 and 3:30.

Registration: For this walk: YES! Please specify if you have a ride, are willing to give a ride or require a ride from the McDonald's.

To register, please contact Matt: mattmacneil.wpg@gmail.com

Bus: The 3045 Pembina McDonald's is on the Blue Line Transit route. On weekends this runs roughly every 25 minutes, so plan accordingly

Trail: Is mostly dirt. It was wet early in early summer, but will be in decent shape come late September. There were some spots of overgrowth, long pants are recommended.

Cost?: A dollar donation to Out There is appreciated. If you're catching a ride with someone from McDonald's a few bucks for gas would be a nice gesture (it's not a long drive, but it's nice to show our drivers gratitude).

Parking: At the trail-head there is a lot at Camp Amisk or street parking along Waverly.

Can I bring a Friend?:  This is a 2SLGBTQIA+ event, so guests should be community members or allies

Puppers: Provided dogs can stay leashed and match our pace, they may definitely join us.
