Cycling

  • The west side (Forks side) of The Esplanade Riel. Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada (map)

Out There Cycling continues every Tuesday evening until the fall.  We meet up in the small, shaded plaza at the west end of Promendade Louis Riel (Provencher Bridge) around 6:20, and begin our ride at about 6:30 pm.

We usually enjoy a gentle ride of 6 to 12 km.  Before we begin our cycle route, we will check out how long a route everyone in the group is up for.  We can adapt the ride for a longer or shorter version of the route so as to be inclusive of varying abilities.

Please remember your helmet -- and a (suggested) donation of $1 for Out There.

We will end up back at the Forks around 7:30 pm, for some social time together. There (or $5 for the whole cycling season).

If the weather is raining around 5:30 and does not look like it will let up before the ride, assume a cancellation.  However, though there is a 60% chance of showers forecast for Tuesday, the current prediction is that the chance of precipitation will be 0 by 6 pm, with a temperature of around 24 and a bit of a breeze.  Great weather for a bike ride.

There is free evening parking on the St Boniface side of the Promenade or along Waterfront Drive, north of William Stephenson Way.
